Add Page Numbers to PDF
Number the pages of a PDF, with the position, format and starting number you choose. It runs on your device.
Add Page Numbers puts a number on every page of a PDF, which reports, theses and printed handouts often need. Choose one of six positions at the top or bottom, a format (1, 1 / N or – 1 –), the starting number, the text size and the distance from the edge. You can also leave the first page, such as a cover, unnumbered. A preview shows how the number will look. The numbers are added in your browser, so the document is never uploaded.

Questions
Can I start from a number other than 1?
Yes. Set Start at to any number, for example to continue from a previous chapter.
Will the numbers cover my content?
They are placed in the page margin. If your pages have very small margins, choose a smaller distance from the edge or a smaller text size.
Why are the numbers sideways on some pages?
Some PDFs store pages rotated. The number follows the page's stored orientation, so on those pages it may appear turned. Fix the rotation with Rotate PDF or Organize PDF first.
Can I use a password-protected PDF?
Not yet. If a PDF needs a password to open, the tool tells you. Open it in a PDF reader with the password, save a copy without it, and use that copy.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened and changed by your browser on your device, so contracts, statements and other private documents never leave it.
