Privacy Policy

The short version: TadaFile works inside your browser. The images you open are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us. A few document tools need our server: they are marked, and your file is deleted as soon as the result is sent back. There are no accounts. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which tools are used; it never receives your images or files.

Your images

When you open, drop or paste an image, your browser reads it into memory and every tool works on it there, using your device's processor and the browser's built-in image features. The result is created on your device and saved through your browser's normal download. Your images, and anything you type into a tool, are not sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no way to see them. Closing the tab clears them from memory.

This also applies to the AI tools: the background remover downloads an AI model to your browser and runs it on your device. The model comes to you; your photo does not go anywhere.

QR Code Reader can use your camera, but only after you choose Scan with camera and your browser asks your permission. The camera picture is read on your device a few times a second to find a code; it is never recorded, saved or uploaded, and the camera turns off as soon as a code is found or you stop it.

Document tools that use our server

Some jobs need software that can't run in a browser. These tools are marked “Uses our server” and show a notice before you choose a file: Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF, PDF to Word, Compress PDF, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, OCR PDF, PDF to PDF/A and Repair PDF.

• What is sent: the file you choose and the options for that job, such as the password for Protect PDF or Unlock PDF.
• Where: through Cloudflare to our server on Google Cloud Run in Mumbai, India, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Google provides the computer it runs on and does not use the file.
• How long: the file is processed in temporary memory and deleted as soon as the result is sent back, or when the job fails. Results are not kept either.
• What is not kept: file names, file contents and passwords are never stored or logged, and no one looks at them.

Information your browser sends when you visit

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. As with any website, your browser sends standard request information (your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for) to deliver the pages. Cloudflare may keep this briefly for security and to keep the service running; see the Cloudflare privacy policy. We do not use it to identify or track you.

Everything the tools use is served from our own domain, including fonts and the background remover's AI models and the software that runs them. The one outside file is the Google Analytics script, described below.

What is stored on your device

To remember your choices, the site saves a few small values in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us:

• your preferred language, and whether you dismissed the language suggestion;
• which background-removal model you chose, and which models this browser has already downloaded;
• whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies.

Your browser also caches the site's files and any AI models you downloaded, so pages load faster and models aren't downloaded twice. You can remove all of this at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages and tools are visited, roughly where visitors are (country and city, worked out from the IP address, which Google Analytics does not store), the device, browser and screen size, and how visitors arrived, such as from a search. It sets cookies to recognize a returning browser. It never receives your images, your files, their names or anything you type into the tools.

• Your choice: visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and no analytics cookies are set unless they accept. Everyone can change their choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or block analytics everywhere with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Without consent: where analytics cookies are declined or not yet accepted, Google may still receive a basic cookieless signal that a page was viewed, which it uses to estimate visitor numbers.
• How long: detailed analytics data is kept for 2 months. We do not use it for advertising and do not combine it with other data. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising and cookies

The site does not show ads. Its only cookies are the Google Analytics cookies described above. If ads are added in future, this section will be updated before they appear, including how to opt out.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or store personal information about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you have a question about your data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR or similar laws, email us and we will answer.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
