Meme Generator

Make a meme from your own photo or a starter template, with bold captions at the top, middle and bottom.

Or start from a template

Meme Generator adds classic meme captions to a picture. Upload your own image or start from one of eight simple built-in templates, then type the top, middle and bottom captions; long lines wrap automatically to fit the width. Choose the font (Impact by default), size, text and outline colors, alignment and uppercase, and download the meme as PNG, JPG or WebP without any watermark.

What it does

Three caption areas
Top, middle and bottom captions, with automatic line wrapping for long text.
Classic meme style
White Impact text with a black outline by default, plus Arial, Comic Sans, Montserrat and Times fonts.
Text scales with the image
The font size is relative to the image height, so captions look the same on small and large pictures.
No watermark
Your meme is saved exactly as you see it, without any added logo.

Questions

Does the meme have a watermark?

No. The downloaded image contains only your picture and your captions.

What font do memes usually use?

The classic meme style is Impact in white with a black outline, which is the default here. If a font is not installed on your device, the browser uses a similar one.

Can I use my own picture?

Yes. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image, or paste one from the clipboard with Ctrl+V.

My caption covers too much of the picture. What can I do?

Lower the font size, or move part of the text to the middle or bottom caption. Long captions wrap onto several lines automatically.

Can I make memes on my phone?

Yes. The meme generator works in mobile browsers; type your captions and use the download button to save the image.
