Flatten PDF

Make form fields and comments part of the page so the PDF can’t be edited by mistake. Free, and it runs on your device.

Flatten PDF turns filled-in form fields, comments, highlights and stamps into ordinary page content, drawn exactly as they look now. Nobody can change the answers or delete the comments afterwards, and the PDF prints and displays the same in every reader. Choose to flatten form fields, comments, or both. Links keep working, and fields with no saved look are left as they are and counted.

Questions

Why flatten a PDF?

So the filled-in answers and comments can’t be changed or removed, and the file looks the same in every PDF reader and when printed.

Can I undo flattening?

Not in the flattened file. Keep the original if you may need to edit the form again.

What about a digitally signed PDF?

Any change to a signed file means the signature no longer validates. Flatten before signing, not after.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. It’s processed on your device and never leaves it.
