PDF to Text
Get the text out of a PDF as a plain .txt file, page by page, ready to copy or edit. Free, and it runs on your device.
PDF to Text pulls the text out of a PDF so you can copy it, search it, edit it or paste it somewhere else, without copying page by page. Lines and paragraphs are kept, and each page can be marked so you know where it came from. Choose all pages or just some, then copy the text or download it as a .txt file. It works on PDFs that contain real text, such as documents saved from Word or a website; for scanned pages, use OCR PDF. Everything happens in your browser.

Questions
Why is no text found?
The PDF is probably a scan: pictures of pages with no text inside. OCR PDF reads the text from the pictures.
Will the layout be kept?
The words and their order are; the design isn't. PDFs store text by position, so columns side by side can be read across and tables come out as lines of text.
Can I get Markdown instead?
Yes. Switch the format to Markdown, or use PDF to Markdown, which also recognises headings and lists.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so the document stays on your device.
