Remove PDF Metadata

See and remove the author, title, software and dates hidden in a PDF. It runs on your device.

PDF files often carry hidden details: the author's name, the document title, the software that made it, and when it was created and changed. Remove PDF Metadata shows what is stored in your file and downloads a copy without it, which is useful before sharing a document publicly or sending a CV. The pages themselves are not changed. Everything happens in your browser, so the document never leaves your device.

Questions

What exactly is removed?

The document information (title, author, subject, keywords, creating software, producer and dates) and the XMP metadata stream.

Does it remove everything personal from the PDF?

No. Text on the pages, comments, and details inside embedded images (such as photo EXIF data) are not changed. Check the content itself before sharing.

Can I use a password-protected PDF?

Not yet. If a PDF needs a password to open, the tool tells you. Open it in a PDF reader with the password, save a copy without it, and use that copy.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and changed by your browser on your device, so contracts, statements and other private documents never leave it.
