SVG to PNG

Convert SVG vector files to sharp PNG images at 1x, 2x, 4x or 8x size, with transparency kept.

SVG to PNG turns a vector graphic, such as a logo or icon, into a PNG image for places that do not accept SVG files. Choose 1x, 2x, 4x or 8x the SVG's own size; because the vector is drawn again at that size, a larger scale gives a sharper image instead of a blurry one. Transparent backgrounds stay transparent in the PNG.

Questions

How do I get a high-resolution PNG from an SVG?

Choose 4x or 8x. A 256 × 256 SVG becomes 1024 × 1024 at 4x or 2048 × 2048 at 8x, and stays sharp because it is drawn again at that size.

Why is the output size not what I expected?

The 1x size comes from the width and height set in the SVG file. If the SVG has only a viewBox and no width or height, the browser may use a default size; add width and height attributes to control it.

Why are fonts or pictures missing in my PNG?

When an SVG is drawn as an image, browsers do not load external files it links to, such as web fonts or linked pictures. Convert text to outlines and embed images in the SVG before converting.

Will the PNG keep the transparent background?

Yes. Any area of the SVG without a fill or background stays transparent.

Can I convert SVG to JPG?

This tool saves PNG only. To get a JPG, convert to PNG first and then open the PNG in PNG to JPG, where you can also choose a background color.
