Settings
The general-purpose barcode for letters, digits and symbols: shipping labels, inventory, asset tags.
Barcode Generator makes the barcodes people actually print: Code 128 for shipping and inventory labels, EAN and UPC for products, ISBN for books, Code 39 for parts and badges, ITF-14 for cartons, GS1-128 for logistics, and the 2D codes Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec. Type the number or text and the barcode appears straight away. Check digits are added for you and mistakes are pointed out as you type. Every barcode is read back with a scanner engine before you download it as PNG or SVG. Everything happens in your browser.

Questions
Which barcode type should I use?
For your own labels, inventory or shipping, Code 128: it holds letters and digits and every scanner reads it. For products sold in shops, EAN-13 (or UPC-A in North America). For books, ISBN.
Do I need to register the number?
To sell a product in shops, yes: EAN and UPC numbers come from GS1, the organisation that runs the system. For your own stock, shelves or internal use, any number works.
How big should I print it?
Keep the bars crisp and give them space: print at 100% (don't stretch it), leave a white margin around the code, and use dark bars on a light background.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The code is made in your browser, and what you type stays on your device.
