Questions
How many images can I compress in one batch?
You can add up to 50 images, and each one can be up to 50 MB.
Which output format should I choose?
WebP is a good balance of size, quality and support. AVIF is usually smaller but encodes more slowly, which is noticeable with many large photos. JPG opens everywhere, and PNG is lossless but reduces the size the least.
Why did one of my files get larger?
Some images are already well compressed, and saving them again does not help. The list marks these files, so you can keep the original for them.
Does bulk compression change the image dimensions?
No, the width and height stay the same. To reduce dimensions as well, run the files through the Bulk Image Resizer first.
What happens to transparent PNGs when I choose JPG?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
