Questions
Data Matrix or QR code?
Both are square codes. Data Matrix stays readable at smaller sizes and is the standard on parts and medicines; QR codes are what most people's phones expect for links.
Can phones read Data Matrix?
Many phone scanner apps can, and Google Lens can. The built-in camera app on some phones reads only QR codes.
How big should I print it?
Keep the bars crisp and give them space: print at 100% (don't stretch it), leave a white margin around the code, and use dark bars on a light background.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The code is made in your browser, and what you type stays on your device.
