Blur & Pixelate Censor
Hide faces, license plates, names or numbers in a photo with blackout, pixelation or blur.
Blur & Pixelate Censor hides private details in a picture before you share it. Draw rectangles or ovals over faces, license plates, addresses or account numbers, and choose a solid blackout, pixelation or blur for each area. Blurred areas are placed over a coarse pixelated layer, so the original details cannot show through at the edges.
How to use Blur & Pixelate Censor
- 1
Upload the image
Drop, choose or paste a JPG, PNG or WebP image, such as a photo or a screenshot.

Select Rectangle or Circle / Oval, then Pixelate, Blur or Blackout. For pixelate and blur, set the strength from 4 to 45.
- 3
Draw over private details
Drag across each area you want to hide. Use Undo to remove the last area or Clear to start again.
- 4
Download the censored image
Download it as PNG, WebP or JPG, or copy it to the clipboard.
What it does
- Three hiding methods
- Solid black boxes, mosaic pixelation, or blur on top of a pixelated base.
- Rectangles and ovals
- Use ovals for faces and rectangles for text, plates and numbers.
- Mix methods in one image
- Each area keeps the method and strength it was drawn with, so you can black out a name and blur a face.
- Consistent on large photos
- The strength is scaled to the image resolution, so high-resolution photos are hidden just as well.
- Undo and clear
- Remove the last area or all areas without reloading the photo.
Questions
Which method is safest for hiding text?
Blackout replaces the pixels completely and is the safest choice for passwords, account numbers and documents. Strong pixelation or blur also works, but small text with weak settings can sometimes be guessed.
Can someone undo the blur in the downloaded file?
The pixels inside each area are replaced in the downloaded image, not hidden on a separate layer. Your original photo on your device is not changed, so share only the censored copy.
Is the EXIF data removed too?
Yes. The download is created from the pixels on the canvas, so camera details and GPS location from the original are not included.
Can I use different effects in the same image?
Yes. Change the method or strength before you draw the next area. Areas you have already drawn keep their own settings.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Drag your finger over the area you want to hide to draw a box or oval.
